Link insertions (niche edits), explained properly
A link insertion adds your link to an article that is already published, indexed and, ideally, already ranking. Because the page has age, internal links and sometimes its own backlinks, a relevant link placed inside it can be picked up and counted by Google quickly. It is also the easiest link type to get wrong, so how the article is chosen matters more than anything else.
Choosing the right article
We look for an existing article on the publisher’s site that is genuinely about your topic, is indexed, and ideally gets organic traffic. We avoid pages that already carry many commercial outbound links. If there is no article that fits your page naturally, we tell you instead of forcing the link.
Making the link read naturally
A link dropped into an unrelated sentence helps nobody. We add or adjust a sentence or two around the link so it adds something for the reader, such as a source, an example or a next step, and so the anchor fits the surrounding copy.
When insertions beat guest posts
Insertions are usually the better choice when you want faster impact, when a publisher has strong older articles on your subject, or when you want to add authority to a page that is already close to page one. Guest posts give you more control over the topic and anchor. Most healthy link profiles use both.
